Stephen Hendee produces Facet Bowl One on a 3D printer using PLA, a bioplastic derived from renewable resources like cornstarch or sugarcane, resulting in a rough, ridged surface. Reminiscent of an artifact and alluding to the signature language of his large-scale installations in a smaller piece, this work is intended to inhabit a domestic space in use or display as the collector desires.
